Privacy Note

This is a plain-language summary, not a legal document. We want you to know exactly what happens to your information before you submit the request form, because this form asks for more than most — including your date of birth and mailing address.

What we collect

When you submit a baptism record request, we collect the information you enter in the form: your (or the person’s) legal name, date of birth, approximate baptism date, parish, city and state, your relationship to that person, your email address, your mailing address, and any note you add.

What we do with it

We send that information in two emails: one to the diocese you select, with your details and your email set as the reply-to address, so they can respond to you directly; and one confirmation copy to your own email address. That’s it — we don’t use it for anything else.

What we don’t do

We have no database. Nothing you submit is stored on our servers after the emails are sent — the only copies that exist afterward are in the diocese’s inbox and your own. We don’t sell or share your information with anyone besides the diocese you’re requesting from, and we don’t use it for marketing.

Analytics

We use StatCounter to see general, anonymized site traffic (page views, approximate location, browser type). It does not see anything you type into the request form — form data goes directly to our email provider, not to any analytics tool.

Third parties

Your request is relayed through Brevo, our transactional email provider, to deliver the two emails described above. The diocese you select is a separate, independent organization — once they receive your request, their own privacy practices apply to how they handle it.
